Note: It´s a little bit outdated. A few things have changed in SASS since the release of this course.

There are a few reasons why Frontend Masters hasn't archived this course yet. It's part of the CSS learning path, and CSS often adopts the best features from Sass. There's no harm in learning things the old way—it can actually open the door to discovering new techniques!

I don't know why they haven't archived the course. What I do know is that someone with little experience might get frustrated because there are things that no longer work the way they're explained—like @import, native functions, @extend...
