I have seen people here who are dying to have that one course and how that course will change their life and blah blah blah
Its not always about the course, Its about the passion.
Not even a single course out there can serve you your dream job on your plate

If you are not able to find that course then move ahead, there are plenty of resources out there which will teach you exactly that if not better.
Also if you wanna grow stop relying on courses this much. If you wanna be a good dev or a senior dev one day you gotta learn technologies on the fly

lets say you are at work and you need some xyz tool or language so you search for the course but turns out there are no courses out there only thing is the documentation but since you are at a habit of relying on courses you won't be able to comprehend that and you might lose your job.

Watching courses is not bad but don't fully rely on them.
Telling you all of this from my personal experience.

I'm a culprit myself, as I have amassed a ton of tuts - and also thousands of books -, but I am also fully aware that probably 98%-99% of these I will never even watch or read. I have like 2 or 3 favorite authors whose style I like; and for some of their courses I have actually paid for. Probably never would have found them if I had not get so many courses

The better courses in my opinion are those that "teach" you to rely on yourself. Once you have the basics down, just try to create something. You will never know 100% sure anything, you will mix up similar languages (my two favs are node / python and an example: any <-> some ; every <-> all, lambda functions are different, string functions are different, etc.), you will seem to be forget many things...

These better ones are as far as I know and what I tried are the guy who runs nomadcoders, then on udemy: brad traversy, reed barger and stephen grider, and also the edx courses are great. Edx courses are also free, and have quite good lectures and homework tasks.

I also have heard from numerous guys who hire devs that if you dont know the answer to something (system architecture is the highest level, but think lower as well like algorithms / ds, dynamic prog., sorting, heaps, trees, etc.) then you should try to articulate the problem, and get down to google it. Know how to look for things / how to solve problems, that's the most important.

Anyway do you know how these tuts are made? The better ones at least plan out in detail what and how and exactly with what examples they will teach. Maybe 10-20% of all tuts are like this. And they make it up on their own, probably using good teaching techniques thrown in (spaced repetition, relying on previously learn stuff, etc.) -- But they also have used the official documentation (sometimes if you compare you can find the exact same examples or sentences used), official tutorials if any, and also googled a lot + they have used the tech themselves to build something. It probably was not working 100% when first written. Not even the second or 3rd time. But after enough tries and solving the myriads of problems facing them - they got it done and in the meantime learned a ton of stuff.

That is exactly what one needs to do. Learn the basics using a tut or book or official docs, or combine these. Once you feel a bit confident, start doing a project that you want for yourself or your friends, family, etc. Does not matter if it has already been written by someone else. No need to compare at first.

Just. Get. It. Done.

has node + react + react native + electron, servers, mongodb, graphql all in one small 300 page book. Of course it is not comprehensive, but will get you started just fine.

Hello, Suraj. Do you read pdf's or you print them out from the store? I want to know because it's really hard to finish a book when it's a pdf even computer screen can make eyes problem.

on windows use sumatra pdf + set the background to something not *white*, gray, or yellowish - thus saving on your eyestrain.

what i think about this.....instead of jaggling here and there on google, youtube, connecting peace after peace.
I have done this...i still do...it's a lot fun, frustrating, tiring gives anxiety at the same time.
My point is...why not learn from someone who is in the same shoes years before you.
Learn from them...their failures....their mistakes.
They have created something...which is a book, ebook, course.
Why not consume them.
Give a very great research on them...read about the authors, read about their courses. Check him properly before consuming anything from them.
I know...from where this thread idea came and there is nothing wrong with this thread.

But what i want to say...you don't know some people, how they consume information.
There are people like me, who talk silly, behave silly to keep the moments lively but they know what they are doing, they know how they do things, how they consume stuff and apply and so many stuff which i don't think i must include here.

You don't know, how some people do things.
We have got every single course or ebook here, but there is only 23 courses downloaded in my laptop and yes i got 11-12 ebooks from various topics.

HEY, IT Depends on the person. how they use it these courses.

courses are great. but everyone should limit them how much you should watch.

courses are great when you are a beginner. but if you want to be advanced dev or a little bit pro. we should start reading from books and blogs and GitHub . I am starting to read it. when I start with a new framework to tech first I read his documentation.

use big screen when you are reading pdf. use monitor at least 1080p 22 - 24 inch zoom the pdf ... take a break after 30 min for 5 min . laptop screens are not that great. If you are using apple laptop that would be great.
