Hi there!

I recently received my latest laptop from work (they really want to send us laptops during this pandemic, huh?) and it got me curious as to what kind of laptops, desktops, etc., you guys use?

Feel free to include pictures of your setups too!

Here are the specs for my one. I'm totally in love with it!

My previous workplace set me up with a Macbook and I really didn't get along with it.
I feel I'm too used to my Linux key mappings that I struggled really hard to learn the new keyboard layout!

Have you always been a mac user?

No, before mac i used mint and ubuntu, i love them. I don't very often use shortcuts, fn etc. so key mapping is not a problem for me.

A Lenovo with MacOS? I didn't know you could put MacOS on anything except Apple hardware! That's really neat.

Any reason you've gone for MacOS?

That sounds super quick, and so much storage o.o

i found Ubuntu to have some latency on my old Dell XPS 13, which put me off of it :(

How are you finding Ubuntu?

I'm counting my blessings!

Most of the places I've worked have offered me MacBooks, but I tell them I'd prefer a Linux machine. They then let me get one for the same price range, so it'd only be natural I get a very powerful machine, since Macs are a little more expensive than their hardware should cost, in my opinion.

Do you do development on this machine?

I had a gaming PC and sold it for a laptop and it was the best decision ever. Sure, I can't play as many games, or at as high resolutions, but the portability of a laptop is just too good to give up (especially as I loved cafés, pre-covid)

I would recommend getting a laptop, because it's way easier to change the OS on it should you wish to. In addition, laptops feel more sturdy, whereas iPads are made out of glass D:

Beautiful computer specs btw!

Ooh a dual boot with Mac AND Windows? Put Linux on there and you'll have caught them all (I might enjoy Pokémon too much...)!

What do you use it for primarily?

@sudan You can purchase Dell XPS preinstalled with Ubuntu! Except I bought the Windows one and it definitely suffered a little bit.

It must be the laptop anyway, interesting
