How can I compress a large file to a small size?

Hello guys, please how can I compress a large file into something smaller? I no longer have space left on my PC.

So, I need to compress some videos (A whole folder).

Is there another way I can compress these folders apart from using Handbrake?

Using handbrake takes a toll on my Pc, as such, it takes almost 5 hours to compress just 2GB video, and I'm trying to compress files of almost 150GB here.

Please guys help me out.
