Start with your own. Learn the mistakes you do on your first try. This will create enough curiosity to start learning stuff..

Then download the resource on which you have a problem in understanding. Learn & Repeat.

@void0error I really appreciate your point of view. I started doing the same thing but the learning curve is steep and time-consuming. Aren't there any optimum path.?

Good choice. I am not expert but my many friends work as freelance UI/UX Designer. You may try first basic graphics design using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Then make some Web template/Mobile app layout with it. After that, you can start using Adobe XD or Figma which is very professional tools nowadays for UI/UX design. Tutflix has an amazing resource you can follow them. Best of luck.

How is the Erik Kennedy - Learn UX Design course ?
His Learn UI Design course is very highly rated. But i've never heard someone talk about his UX course.

If you're a beginner try this course.
Please, Log in or Register to view URLs content!

Also read books like Sprint by Jake Knapp & The Design of everyday things

BTW
Don't fall in the tutorial or courses loop. Courses and tutorial can be addicting, but you learn the most by practicing.

What should you learn first UX or UI ?

I'm also learning UI/UX at the moment. But i'm coming from a graphic design background. So i decided to start with UI first:

Erik Kennedy - Learn UI Design
Shift Nudge - Interface Design

This are the best 2 UI courses i could find online.

And luckily enough, they can be downloaded for free on this forum.

UX is a broad field. And imo a little harder to learn solo. Most UX designers work in teams. You also need to learn UX Research. Which is a little harder to do as a solo designer.
If you are looking for a UX job. Learn the principles. Make 3 (fictional) case-studies. And just apply for a ton of jobs.

Good UX courses are a bit harder to find. But like i said before.

A lot of people are recommending : User Experience (UX): The Ultimate Guide to Usability and UX. I bought it from Udemy. But haven't started yet. So i don't know if it's really THAT good. But it gets a lot of praise on reddit.

So my perfect roadmap would be:

-Learn UI.
-Learn Design Principles
-Learn UX Principles

Make a portfolio with 3 good case studies. And just apply for a ton of jobs. Some people might say it will take years to become a good designer. But i believe all this can be done in 6-12 months (if you re really dedicated). You don't need to be a Senior level designer to apply for jobs. Just make sure you're good enough for a junior level role. And you can also learn while on the job.
